Hope and Housing for a Brighter Future

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide safe, supportive, and empowering transitional housing for individuals reentering society after incarceration. As three men who have walked this path before, we understand the challenges of rebuilding life with dignity and purpose. We are committed to creating a stable environment where residents can focus on personal growth, pursue higher education, and develop the skills necessary for lasting success. Through mentorship, community, and opportunity, we aim to break the cycle of recidivism and open doors to a brighter future.

Core Values

  • Dignity & Respect – Every person deserves to be treated with compassion, fairness, humanity, and respect.
  • Second Chances – People are more than their past, and we honor the power of transformation.
  • Education & Growth – Higher education and lifelong learning are pathways to stability and success.
  • Community & Support – We foster a safe, inclusive environment where residents uplift one another.
  • Accountability & Responsibility – We empower individuals to take ownership of their futures through integrity and hard work.
  • Breaking Cycles – We are committed to reducing recidivism by addressing root challenges and opening doors to opportunity.

RISING FUTURES TRANSITIONAL RESIDENCE

Every year, thousands of men and women walk out of California’s prisons with freedom in hand but nowhere to go—our mission is to change that! Breaking cycles of incarceration begin with the one thing society often overlooks: a safe place to call home.  Education, stability, and second chances: that’s the foundation of Rising Futures Transitional Residence’s vision. Opening doors and providing hope!

Rising Futures Transitional Residence is a residence dedicated to men paroling from prison, who possess that desire for higher education.  Those men, who while still incarcerated, began their college educational journey through the partnership of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and the California State Universities. It is our commitment to help them complete that journey! Rising Futures Transitional Residence aims to provide safe, stable, and supportive housing for approximately 14 to 18 recently released men in San Diego County, California.
